Sociologist of culture (Ph.D.). The main areas of her research are the issue of innovation in culture and qualitative research methodology. She collaborated with Professor Andrzej Siciński (the book Badania ‘rozumiejące’ stylu życia – narzędzia, 1988). Author of several books, including: Badacz społeczny wobec doświadczenia (1993) and Gęba polska czyli Mistrz Gombrowicz (2006), numerous academic articles including: Nauczanie włączające and O podróżowaniu. She wrote the afterword to Gregory Bateson’s Umysł i przyroda: jedność konieczna (1996), co-editor of collective volumes, translator. She was an expert on local culture for UNESCO and the Stefan Batory Foundation for several years. She combined her research work with commitment and social activity. She co-founded the advisory board of the Interdisciplinary Creativity and Research Centre Pracownia. During subsequent editions of the Theatre Village festival, she has been a guest speaker, discussant and author of presentations: "Krzysztof Łepkowski – od Pracowni Olsztyńskiej do Strażników Północy" (2006) and a lecture on Zygmunt Bauman (2008). The title of an interview with her by Marta Strzelecka ("Dialog" 2008, no. 11) could be the motto of her entire activity: O tożsamości decyduje kultura nie granice. .
