Karolína Plachá
Graduate of the Theatre Academy in Prague. An important inspiration for her was her collaboration with directors: Maciej Gorczynski and Biljana Golubovic. She lives in the small village of Stružinec near Jistebnice in the south of the Czech Republic, where she founded the association Naplaveno. Its aim is to unite people from towns and villages through cultural activities. The barn with a theatre hall, where events organised by Naplaveno take place, was born out of inspiration from the Węgajty Theatre. During the grand opening of the theatre hall in Stružinec in November 2019, the Węgajty Theatre staged Wykluwanie. An encounter with the Węgajty Theatre during an Alleluias expedition in 2008 was an important life inspiration for her. An adept of the Other Theatre School, she participated in many expeditions of the Węgajty Theatre including the Karawan Południa: expedition: to Hungary, Montenegro and Albania. As an actress she performed in the following IST’s productions: Water 2030 and Earth B. Resident (togehter with David Zelinka) of the Węgajty Theatre (2010). In 2009-12, she was involved in the organisation of the Theatre Village festival. She is the author of several posters and paintings inspired by the activities of the Węgajty Theatre. Co-founder, together with David Zelinka, of the theatrical group Teď nádech a leť, in which for several years she was an actress and co-creator of performances. She appeared at the Theatre Village Festival several times with performances by the Teď nádech a leť group, as well as with her own projects.
