He dedicated his first published text to the Węgajty Theatre ("Scena" 1989, no. 10). He later wrote about it many times. He wandered with Węgajty through Suwałki and the Low Beskids. He met many wonderful people in this theatre, he saw many extraordinary performances, he participated (also actively) in various undertakings. He is currently a professor in the Department of Theatre and Drama at the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University. He is primarily interested in Polish and popular theatre, especially of the 20th century. He studies Polish theatre of that period in the broader context of history and social change. A specific place in his interest of the Polish theatre is occupied by the other theatre – situated on the peripheries of the main artistic circle.
