He was a music and theatre critic and had a vast knowledge of music history and theory. A connoisseur of literature and art, a careful observer of the cultural world, he was an erudite and humanist in the fullest sense of the word. He worked as a journalist in "Gazeta Olsztyńska", the Olsztyn branch of "Gazeta Wyborcza". He was a long-time co-worker of the editorial office of the Polskie Radio Olsztyn, the Warmia and Mazury Philharmonic and a programme consultant of the Musical Theatre in Gdynia. He was active in the Warmia and Mazury Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts. He was not only a witness and commentator, but above all an ambassador of the work of the Węgajty Theatre and the Węgajty Schola, which he regarded as particularly valuable in the cultural landscape of Warmia. From the dozens of texts he published about the Theatre and a similar number of articles about the Schola, one could compile a large and extremely varied book, as Tadeusz Szyłłako accompanied almost all artistic activities of the Węgajty Association's artists: performances, seminars, concerts, carolling, meetings, exhibitions, dances and common celebrations. As a critic describing the Theatre for more than twenty years, he was its full-fledged co-creator. He transferred acting and musical activities into the space of words. Thanks to his unique combination of vast knowledge in many fields of art and sensitivity, he found each time the right, dynamically changing perspective for the described form of art, topic, event. His theatre writing pulsates with an inner energy similar to that evident in the artistic work of the Węgajty Theatre.
